arrowInteragency Agreement between Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Department of Defense (DoD) - This agreement establishes a framework to coordinate mutual support in the event of a shortfall in critical medical materiel needed by the HHs or DoD to prepare for, respond to or recover from the public health and medical consequences of a domestic catastrophic incident or incident of national significance. Critical medical materiel includes pharmaceuticals, biologicals and medical and or surgical supplies and equipment.

arrowPreparing Tribal Nations to Receive Strategic National Stockpile Assets: A Resource Guide for American Indian and Alaska Native Leaders - Coordination between state and tribal planners is crucial in emergency preparedness planning to ensure tribal communities have the necessary resources for effective planning and response during a public health emergency. Formulating partnerships between state, local, and tribal entities in advance of such an event will result in better communication, more rapid response efforts, and opportunities to save lives and prevent illness during an event. This is an informational brochure detailing the role of tribal nations in SNS planning. It can be used, in addition to your other planning tools, to reach out to your American Indian and/or Alaska Native populations.

There is additional information for cities, counties and states on implementing an SNS plan available at the National Association of County and City Health Officials.
