Family Health

The Family Health Bureau implements preventive services to reproductive age women, mothers, infants, children, adolescents/youth, including children and youth with special health care needs, and their families. The needs of these populations are assessed and data collected for use in policy decision making.

Positions are funded for region and local public health offices to implement these services. Ten programs, along with a Medical Director, Bureau Chief, and support staff, are in the state office. The Bureau develops various reports annually, such as the Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant Report and Application, Title X Report and Application, Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), Birth Defects, and the WIC State Plan.
