This letter is to announce a funding opportunity for some providers of obstetric and midwifery care. Liability insurance for providers of childbirth health care is becoming increasingly costly. To assist providers of birthing services with their malpractice insurance premiums, the New Mexico legislature has initiated a Birthing Workforce Retention Fund. The Department of Health now invites applications for this Fund.
For New Mexico there is limited funding for fiscal year 2013, which ends June 30, 2013. Awards will be between $5,000 and $10,000. In order to be eligible for award of money from the fund, the applicant must:
