Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Loan Bank

The Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Loan Bank offers SLPs the opportunity to borrow one or two devices, for 30 days, free of charge. These devices may be used during evaluations to assess for the appropriateness of features that match those of devices currently available on the market.  Language encoding systems, voice output features and physical access to the device may be assessed with available devices.

Given this information, a request may be made for insurance to pay for rental of the specific device recommended. Technical assistance is available from the SLP consultant to the Therapy Services Unit to determine which device(s) may be most appropriate for assessment purposes.
