2007 DDSD Statewide Awards
The Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) honored the following people and agencies for demonstrating excellence in Meaningful Day services.  Awards were given in the areas of Best Employer and Employee, Individual Accomplishment, Professional Achievement, Provider Excellence, and Best Community Membership practices.

Employer of The Year: Pizzeria Uno/Chicago Bar and Grill

Richard Fry is the owner of Pizzeria Uno/Chicago Bar and Grill and employs David Parsons in Las Cruces. This business makes it a practice to carefully hire the best employees for the job. David Parsons “is simply one of the lunch time crew” at Pizzeria Uno/Chicago Bar and Grill. The staff and management have fully integrated David into their food service and appreciate him as a dependable, hardworking individual.

Richard Fry appreciates David’s dependability and praises him as one of his best employees. “As anyone who has worked in food service will tell you,” Richard says, “lunch time is the most stressful and fast paced time of the day. It’s nice to know we are going to have someone washing dishes because David never misses work.”
