Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) Requirements - Policies:

DDSD Policies:
Access to Employment in pdfadobemark - This policy creates a foundation for supported employment opportunities that builds on the individual's capabilities, choice, interests, and social connectedness.

Accreditation of Long Term Services Division Funded Providers in pdfadobemark - August 30, 2004
This policy establishes the requirements for the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) in the accreditation of agencies contracting with the Division to provide community-based services to persons with developmental disabilities.


Aversive Intervention Prohibitions in pdfadobemark - The intent of this policy is to ensure the right of individuals to be protected from aversive interventions in order to alter behavior.

Behavior Support Service Provisions in pdfadobemark - The purpose of this policy is to provide a framework for person-centered approaches to planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and modifying behavioral support for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Certification and Re-certification Requirements for Developmental Specialists - The intent is to maintain a certification system for Developmental Specialists to promote acquisition of an improvement in the skills needed to provide quality early intervention services for families of eligible infants and toddlers.

Crisis Prevention/Intervention Plan in pdfadobemark - The purpose of this policy is to ensure that crisis prevention/intervention plans are developed and implemented to prevent or avert a crisis situation for individuals receiving DD Waiver residential or habilitation services. The plan is intended to guide service providers in situations which pose a risk to the health and safety of the individual or to others.

Expedited Allocation to the Developmental Disability Waiver Program in pdfadobemark – June 18, 2007 – The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines by which an individual on the Central Registry who meets the federal definition can be allocated to Waiver services on a basis other than the individual’s date of registration.

Human Rights Committee Requirements in pdfadobemark - The intent of this policy is to specify the purpose of a Human Rights Committee of a provider agency with regard to individuals served through the DD Waiver Program.

Improper Solicitation of Business in pdfadobemark - This policy ensures that an individual's right to freedom of choice of case management agencies and direct service providers is honored and respected.

Medication Administration Assessment in pdfadobemark - This policy for for individuals on the DD Waiver and DD Adult State General Funded services ensure the health and safety of adults in Community Living Services, Adult Habilitation or Employment services. The Medication Assessment and Delivery policy, procedure and Medication Administration Assessment  Tool (MAAT) clarify the level and type of assistance needed with the delivery of medications.

Medical Immobilization/Protective Stabilization and Pre-Sedation in pdfadobemark -
This policy clarifies our deference to licensed medical and dental professionals, individuals and health care decision makers regarding the use of medical immobilization/protective stabilization or pre-sedation before or during medical or dental procedures for individuals receiving services through the Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver Program or the DD Adult State General funded residential or day services.

Psychotropic Medication Use in pdfadobemark - This policy defines the parameters for appropriate use of psychotropic medications within programs and services funded by the Developmental Disability Support Division.

Referral to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation for Employment in pdf adobemark- Related Services - To establish policy and procedure for referral of individuals served by the DD Waiver to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), NM Department of Education, for employment-related services.

Regional Office Role in Utilization Review in pdfadobemark - January 9, 2004
This policy establishes the role of DDSD Regional Offices in the approval of services provided to individuals served by the Developmental Disabilities Medicaid Waiver Program.


Socialization and Sexuality Education for Individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) in pdf adobemark- Policy

This policy illustrates the comprehensive system of referral and support for individuals with developmental disabilities who need socialization and sexuality education and the qualifications necessary to be a sexuality educator.

State General Fund (SGF) and Family Infant Toddler (FIT) Billing Policy in pdf adobemark- The purpose of this policy is to formalize the payment of invoices across the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division.  This policy is applicable to all DDSD Contractors, State General Fund Respite, Family Infant Toddler non-direct service providers and Adult State General Fund Providers.

 

Support for Individuals With Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) Who Exhibit or Have Exhibited Sexually Inappropriate/Offending Behavior in pdfadobemark – Policy

This policy defines how DDSD intends to provide a comprehensive integrated system of support that will result in the identification of needs, the provision of support and services and the effective management of risk for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) who exhibit sexually inappropriate or offending behavior.

 

Supported Living Conditions Policy - in pdfadobemark

The purpose of this policy is to set parameters restricting Developmental Disabilities Supports Division’s (DDSD’s) Supported Living Providers from setting up dedicated, provider-only office spaces within the homes of individuals they serve.

Supporting People on the DD Waiver with Dysphagia/Risk for Aspiration in pdfadobemark - The purpose is to clarify expectations for all therapists/eating specialists, case managers, agency nurses and dietitians/ nutritionists state-wide serving individuals on DD Waiver who have been identified as having Dysphagia/Risk for Aspiration.


Self-Imposed Moratorium in pdfadobemark
This policy sets the rules for approval of a DD and/or MF Waiver provider’s request to put a freeze (a moratorium) on their acceptance of new individuals into service. The moratorium will be for a specified period of time (not to exceed one year) in a specified DDSD region while the provider works on implementing a plan to exit the moratorium.

Reporting and Documentation of DDSD Training Requirements in pdfadobemark
This policy sets the criteria for reporting and documentation of DDSD training requirements for direct service and case management agency staff paid to support individuals on the DD Waiver or State General Funds.

This policy sets the minimum training requirements for case management agency staff who support individuals on the DD Waiver or State General Funds.
