Supports for People with Special Needs:
Did you know that New Mexicans with developmental disabilities can choose to get services in their homes and communities or choose care facilities for services? The New Mexico Department of Health - Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) has programs that can help in the areas of Medically Fragile, Developmental Disabilities, and Family Infant Toddler Early Intervention Services. Programs are also available within the Human Services Department, Medical Assistance Division. Services provided through DDSD programs focuses on the person and his/her family, are easy to access and represent the best value for the money. DDSD programs are not meant to replace the help New Mexicans get from other sources. There are programs outside of Developmental Disability Support Division for which you or the individual with disabilities may qualify. How to Apply:
To find out more on how to apply for these programs, contact the Developmental Disability Support Division 1-800-283-5548, or the Human Services Department, Medical Assistance Division. Click here for a specific Regional Office in your area. Registrations for the Developmentally Disabilities Waiver and Medically Fragile Waiver are now being taken by the Intake and Eligibility workers at DDSD Regional Offices. The completed registration form may be mailed or turned in to the Regional Office. For Family Infant Toddler early intervention services, call BABYNET 1-800-552-8195.
