Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) Providers, Advisory Groups and Advocates, Interagency Collaboration:
Providers
DDSD contracts with a variety of agencies to provide direct services for individuals with developmental disabilities. The division supports providers in effective service delivery through technical assistance to agencies, training for direct care staff and specialized support to providers and individuals served in the areas of employment, team facilitation, mediation, behavior and clinical consultation, evaluation, Assitive Technology and Environmental Modification services.
Advisory Groups and Advocates
DDSD is guided by two primary advisory bodies: The The Advisory Council on Quality Supports for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and Their Families (ACQ) and the Family Infant Toddler Interagency Council. Each advisory group meets quarterly to provide input and feedback to the division. In addition, DDSD engages a variety of stakeholder groups such as the Self Advocate Advisory Council and the Home-Based Task Force. DDSD also works in collaborative with advocacy organizations such as the ARC of New Mexico, People First of New Mexico and Parents Reaching Out.
Interagency Collaboration
DDSD works with several other state agencies to support effective service delivery to our consumers. Primary partners include the Human Services Department, The Developmental Disabilities Planning Council, The Public Education Department (Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Special Education Unit), the Aging and Long Term Services Department and the Children, Youth and Families Department.
