The aim of the HIV/AIDS Prevention Program is to reduce the impact of the disease on the diverse populations and geographic regions of New Mexico.

The New Mexico HIV/AIDS Prevention Program is a component of the Infectious Disease Bureau, Public Health Division, New Mexico Department of Health. Another component, the HIV/AIDS Services Program, operates a network of six Health Management Alliances located in each region of the State to provide medical and social services for people with HIV/AIDS.
