Over the last twenty years notable progress has been made in reducing deaths from injuries, particularly from motor vehicle crashes. Yet more can be done to prevent injuries, the leading cause of deaths in children and young adults, and a great burden to the elderly. The New Mexico Department of Health and Epidemiology and Response Division is providing data on this web page to support prevention of injuries in New Mexico.
