The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Announcement

Outbreaks in poultry and U.S. dairy cows with one recent human case in a U.S. dairy worker have been detected due to H5N1 bird flu. The spread of person to person is none and the current public health risk is low.

Call for consultation: Draft Traditional Medicine Strategy 2025–2034

During the 2023 World Health Assembly 76, a request was made to the Director General to extend the existing World Health Organization (WHO) traditional medicine strategy until 2025, and to develop a new draft global traditional medicine strategy for 2025-2034. Consequently, the WHO has taken on the task of developing a new Global Strategy for Traditional Medicine (2025-2034) to provide support for, tackle challenges related to, and unlock the potential contribution of traditional medicine to improving health and well-being. This Strategy is now available for online consultation, and the WHO is now inviting input and insight from Indian Country!

The deadline to provide your comments and feedback is May 6, 2024.

Comment Deadline Extended: Traditional Healing Medicaid Reimbursement Framework

What Is Happening:

CMS has extended its comment deadline on the framework for reviewing Section 1115 waivers including traditional healing components. The deadline to submit comments on the framework is now close of business Friday, May 3, 2024. Comments can be submitted to [email protected].
