Las Cruces Public Health Offices Providing Vaccinations

December 3, 2015 - Immunization - Vaccination

The New Mexico Department of Health’s Las Cruces Central Public Health Office at Las Cruces County Public Health Office, 1170 N. Solano Drive, Las Cruces, NM is now providing full-time immunization services for children and adults.

Immunizations services are available for walk-in customers from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. and by appointment only from 1:15 to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“Getting vaccinated is one of the easiest, most important things anyone can do for their health and that of their children," said New Mexico Department of Health Southwest Region Director Dawn Sanchez. “Vaccines are a safe and effective way to help protect children, families, and our community from diseases that in the past routinely caused death and disability.”

Seasonal vaccines, such as flu shots, will be available as well as all immunizations required under state law for children to attend public school.  Tdap vaccine, recommended for all pregnant women at each pregnancy will also be provided for mothers-to-be and family members.  Tdap vaccine protects against tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough.

Immunization services are provided at no cost for children under 18 under the federal Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, but families are still encouraged to bring insurance, Medicaid, and/or Medicare cards. Adult immunization services are only for those uninsured.

Starting in January, in addition to services at the Las Cruces Central Public Health Office, outreach vaccination clinics will be provided at the Las Cruces East Mesa Local Health Office each Thursday of the month. The East Mesa clinic is located at 5220 Holman Road, Las Cruces, NM.

Please call ahead to ensure services are being provided. For additional information and to make an appointment call the Las Cruces Central Public Health Office at 575-528-5001.
