Socorro public health office provides back-to-school vaccinations

SOCORRO, NM – The New Mexico Department of Health’s (NMDOH) Socorro Public Health Office at 214 Neel Avenue NW will be providing no cost back-to-school vaccinations for all children aged 18 and younger regardless of whether they are a patient or have insurance at the following dates and times:    

• Wednesday-Friday: June 25-27: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
• Tuesday: July 1: 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
• Tuesday: July 8: 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
• Friday: July 11: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
• Tuesday: July 15: 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
• Friday: July 18: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
• Tuesday: July 22: 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
• Friday: July 25: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
• Tuesday: July 29: 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
• Friday: Aug 1: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
• Tuesday: Aug 5: 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
• Friday: Aug 8: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
• Tuesday: Aug 12: 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
• Friday: Aug 15: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
• Tuesday: Aug 19: 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
• Friday: Aug 22: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
• Tuesday: Aug 26: 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
• Friday: Aug 29: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.

Parents need to bring their child’s shot record and Medicaid or private health insurance card if they have insurance, even though immunizations are provided at no cost to parents. No one will be turned away if they don’t have insurance.  

To get a copy of your or your child’s vaccinations record, visit VaxViewNM.org to download a copy or contact the NMDOH Helpline at 1-833-SWNURSE (1-833-796-8773) for assistance.  

The vaccinations are available through the Got Shots immunization campaign organized by the New Mexico Immunization Coalition, which includes NMDOH and the New Mexico Primary Care Association. This year, more than 65 community health centers, public health offices, and private practices across New Mexico are participating in Got Shots.
