Free back-to-school vaccine clinics still available statewide
SANTA FE – There’s still time for New Mexico children to get required back-to-school vaccinations for free at clinics statewide through Aug. 29.
Sixty-nine locations across the state offer hours that include evenings and weekends for vaccinations
The Got Shots special immunization clinics, offered through the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH), the New Mexico Primary Care Association and the New Mexico Immunization Coalition are open to all children from birth through age 18. No insurance is required, though parents should bring their child's vaccination record and insurance card if they have one. No child will be turned away for lack of coverage.
“Great job to all the kids and their parents for getting vaccinated. Staying up to date helps everyone around you stay healthy and free from many serious, preventable diseases when returning to the classroom,” said Andrea Romero, the NMDOH immunization program section manager.
Some Got Shots providers are holding evening and weekend vaccine clinics to accommodate parents’ busy schedules. Parents should call ahead to the clinic to see if an appointment is needed.

Find a shot clinic nearest you by visiting our Don’t Wait, Vaccinate webpage at https://vaccine.doh.nm.gov/. There you can schedule appointments with your local primary care provider, pharmacy or NMDOH public health office in your community.
