Medical Cannabis Program launches access to electronic patient ID cards through the online patient portal
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health’s Medical Cannabis Program announces an improvement to its internet patient portal located at https://mcp-patient-tracking.nmhealth.org/ that now allows patients online access to their Medical Cannabis Program identification card as well as a wide range of program assistance for both new and returning patients.
After creating a verified patient account on the portal, Medical Cannabis patients now can access and use an electronic Patient Identification (ID) Card. Patients utilizing the online portal and accessing their Patient ID Card electronically will have shorter processing time and the added convenience of not needing to wait for a printed card to arrive in the mail.
With more than 116 thousand patients in the state, the medical cannabis online patient portal allows patients easier access to enroll in the program when working with their medical provider and the ability to buy the medicine they need in a timely manner. This is a part of the ongoing process to streamline the application process, reduce the use of paper, and be more environmentally friendly by moving to a fully online enrollment system. The Medical Cannabis Program can send email messages directly to patients from the portal improving security, reducing communication time and allowing for better service.
