Belen public health office provides back-to-school vaccinations
BELEN, NM – The New Mexico Department of Health’s (NMDOH) Belen Public Health Office at 617 Becker Avenue will be providing no cost back-to-school vaccinations for all children aged 18 and younger regardless of whether they are a patient or have insurance from June 16 to August 20, with the following dates and times in June:
- Tuesday: June 24: 9 a.m.-noon and 1–4 p.m.
- Saturday: June 28: 10 a.m.– 2 p.m.
- Monday: June 30: 9 a.m. - noon and 1 –4 p.m.
Vaccinations are by appointment only. Please call ahead. Walk-in's accepted if staff are available. Call (505) 864-7743 for more information or with any questions.
Parents need to bring their child’s shot record and Medicaid or private health insurance card if they have insurance, even though immunizations are provided at no cost to parents. No one will be turned away if they don’t have insurance.
To get a copy of your or your child’s vaccinations record, visit VaxViewNM.org to download a copy or contact the NMDOH Helpline at 1-833-SWNURSE (1-833-796-8773) for assistance.
The vaccinations are available through the Got Shots immunization campaign organized by the New Mexico Immunization Coalition, which includes NMDOH and the New Mexico Primary Care Association. This year, more than 65 community health centers, public health offices, and private practices across New Mexico will participate in Got Shots.
