A Health Educator trained in harm reduction is available to answer questions and concerns about viral hepatitis risks, prevention, testing and treatment. Referrals to providers participating in UNMHSC’s Project ECHO throughout the state may be made for medical evaluation. The same staff member may educate callers about treatment options for opiate addiction with methadone and Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone), including referrals to DOH facilities or offices in Albuquerque and in Las Cruces.
